Rare Book Restoration
In February 2019 Mackay Carpet Care & Restoration Services was involved in the restoration of rare law books from the 16th and 17th century, which were affected by mould. We partnered with International Conservation Services from Sydney to do the specialised job in our humidity-controlled and temperature-controlled room. The rare books were placed onto our downdraft table with book pillows and carefully restored. The downdraft table has a built-in ventilation system to capture loose particles and draw them away from the work.
